The Dawn Run Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, sometimes known as the Ryanair Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle for sponsorship reasons, is a Grade 2 National Hunt hurdle competition in Great Britain available to fillies and mares aged four and above. It is run on Cheltenham’s New Course over a distance of around 2 miles and 1 furlong (2 miles and 179 yards, or 3,382 meters), with eight hurdles to be jumped. The event is for novice hurdlers and is held every year at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
The event debuted in 2016 as a new race at the Cheltenham Festival, increasing the meeting to 28 races. From 2016 to 2018, the race was sponsored by Trull House Stud and ran as the Trull House Stud Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle. Tattersalls sponsored the event in 2019 with a group of National Hunt breeders, including Trull House Stud, before Daylesford took over as sponsor for 2020 running. Parnell Properties sponsored the 2021 event, and Ryanair took up sponsorship for the 2022 race.
