The Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle is a Grade 3 National Hunt hurdle competition held in Great Britain for horses aged four years. It is raced over a distance of around 2 miles and 12 furlongs (2 miles and 87 yards, or 3,298 meters) on the Old Course at Cheltenham, and there are eight hurdles to be leapt throughout the race. It is a handicap event for juvenile novice hurdlers that takes place every year in March at the Cheltenham Festival.
Fred Winter (1926–2004) was a prominent rider and trainer in National Hunt racing, and the event is named for him. Winter won seventeen races as a rider and twenty-eight times as a trainer at the Cheltenham Festival. When a fourth day was added to the Festival in 2005, many new events were added, including the Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle. It was originally classified as Listed, but in 2009 it was upgraded to Grade 3.
